Congrats Summer 2025 BRSTEM Fellows

What an incredible summer it has been for our inaugural cohort of the Baton Rouge STEM (BRSTEM) Fellows program! We are immensely proud to congratulate these exceptional high school students on the successful completion of their intensive summer session. Their dedication, curiosity, and hard work have truly shone through.

Each of our fellows represented their respective high schools with distinction:

  • Jireh Motton from Northeast High
  • Jeremiah Cage from Madison Prep
  • Adonijah Hodges from McKinley High School
  • Randi Haymond from Liberty Magnet High
  • Nicholas Chesterfield from Glen Oaks High

These bright minds dove deep into a diverse range of STEM disciplines, gaining invaluable hands-on experience and knowledge. Their exposure to agriculture, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, aeronautical engineering, biology, and chemistry will undoubtedly serve as powerful tools for their future academic and career development. We are particularly excited to see the further development of their innovative capstone projects, which aim to enhance life in their own communities throughout the upcoming school year.

This transformative summer intensive would not have been possible without the incredible support of our community partners. We extend our deepest gratitude to the City of Baker Schools and Greater Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church for generously making their facilities available for our summer learning sessions. Their commitment to fostering STEM education in Baton Rouge is truly commendable. The recognition by East Baton Rouge Parish School Board Member Cliff Lewis at a recent board meeting was a great conclusion to the summer and is just a taste of the recognitions that each of you will receive going forward.

The journey for our BRSTEM Fellows has just begun, and we eagerly anticipate their continued growth as they embark on their mentorship phase and prepare to showcase their projects in state-level STEM competitions. Stay tuned for more updates on their inspiring progress!
