Mission
Our mission is to work with policymakers, educators, and the community to integrate STEM into classroom learning in alignment with college and career readiness standards.
Mr. Lewis is a graduate of the College of Engineering at Southern University in Baton Rouge with a BS in Electrical Engineering and a graduate of the E.J. Ourso College of Business at Louisiana State University with an MBA. Prior to the founding of BRSTEM and Apex Collegiate Academy, Mr. Lewis has launch multiple non-profits and small businesses as well as having worked for Texas Instruments, Raytheon, and McKesson as an Electrical Engineer.
Baton Rouge STEM was founded in November 2019 by Eric B. Lewis following the closing of Apex Collegiate Academy. He founded Apex as a STEM-based college preparatory school for students in grades 6-12. BRSTEM is a Baton Rouge-based, STEM development program for youth and professional educators. We marry our founder’s passion for engineering and education in a way that provides students with relevant application of the rigorous academic experiences they have in their respective schools.
