STEM Instructor Job Description
Position Summary
A Baton Rouge STEM Instructor will be held accountable by the Director regarding their performance and development. Instructors will play a key role in shaping and educating students participating BRSTEM community workshops by instructing them on a numerous STEM activities and experiences.
Instructor Duties and Responsibilities
- Present BRSTEM curriculum to students in grades K-8
- Guide students in completing relevant hands-on activities
- Ensure student safety and monitor their activities
- Set up and ensure equipment is secure and stored properly
- Follow safety and emergency procedures and guidelines
- Work one-on-one with students
- Instruct and organize projects (STEM, crafts, experiments, etc.)
- May perform administrative tasks (filing, record keeping, etc.) as needed
Instructor Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM field
- 2 years of strong classroom instructional experience
- Passion for STEM
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
