Job Summary
We are seeking energetic, reliable, and skilled Part-Time STEM Educators to lead our in-school and after-school programs for elementary and middle school students. You will be responsible for delivering our proprietary curriculum, which includes high-interest topics like Intro to Robotics, Chemical Reactions, and Sports Science.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned educator who can command a room with positive classroom management while making complex scientific concepts fun and accessible.
Key Responsibilities
- Instructional Delivery: Lead STEM sessions at designated school sites using provided BRSTEM lesson plans and materials.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a safe, productive, and highly engaged learning environment for groups of up to 25–30 students.
- Mentorship: Supervise and guide BRSTEM Interns and High School Fellows who assist in the classroom.
- Preparation: Set up and break down STEM lab equipment and materials for each session.
- Professionalism: Serve as a positive role model and represent BRSTEM professionally to school administrators and parents.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Math, Science, Engineering, or a related field (Current certified teachers or retired educators are highly encouraged to apply).
- Experience: Proven track record of successful classroom management in an elementary or middle school setting.
- Knowledge: Strong background in Math or Science instruction.
- Adaptability: A strong willingness to learn new instructional methods and technical tools (e.g., Scratch coding, Robotics, Lab safety).
- Reliability: Must have dependable transportation to various school sites within the Baton Rouge area.
