Camp Director Job Description
Position Summary
A Baton Rouge STEM Camp Director will be held accountable by the Director regarding their performance and development. Camp Directors are tasked with oversight of summer camp activities at their assigned facility including counselors, fellows, and operational activities. The Camp Director will oversee day-to-day operations and provide support to counselors providing enrichment and instruction to camp fellows. Additionally, the Camp Director will handle any organizational or safety issues that arise. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with classroom instruction experience.
Camp Director Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction for camp fellows
- Supervise and develop camp counselors
- Work with BRSTEM Director to develop camp programming and curriculum
- Oversee day-to-day operations during camp
- Coordinate vendors and service providers
Camp Director Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM field
- 5 years of strong classroom instructional experience
- Passion for STEM
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
